Christine Cole Catley

Dame Christine McKelvie Cole Catley (née Bull, 19 December 1922 – 21 August 2011), was a New Zealand journalist, publisher and author.
==Working life==
Cole Catley was born in 1922 in Wellington, New Zealand. She began her career working for the ''Taranaki Daily News'' while still at school. Later she wrote for ''The Press'' while attending Canterbury University in Christchurch. She wrote for the Labour Party's daily paper, ''The Southern Cross'', the New Zealand Listener, Radio New Zealand and Australia's ABC Network. She was a member of the Broadcasting Council, but was removed by prime minister Rob Muldoon of the National Party. She wrote for ''The Dominion'' (using the pseudonym "Sam Cree") and for the ''Sunday Times''. She died on 21 August 2011 from lung cancer at age 88.
